Commentaries from previous Pilgrims………

From Roxanne 9 February 2008
Just so you know, I had an awesome time.  The ENTIRE trip was so much more than I expected!   Like we discussed at the hacienda, the best part of going to a new country is the cultural experience- which we got to see and know first hand and it is very Catholic.  Yes, I did have lots of fun and I was also spiritually enriched very much.  When I came home I felt kinda like part of me stayed there in Quito.  I missed the beauty and seeing the spirit of the people who live there.  Anyhow, God willing, I hope to return next year for the pilgrimage!  I will start saving now so that if all is well I can return and see you all and my God and the Virgin Mary like I've never seen them before!  Take care.

We have been on a Pilgrimage to practically every well known Marian shrine in the Europe and Asia, and must admit this was the best trip we have experienced.

I want to tell you that, like the group we had in our pilgrimage to Italy, this group, although much smaller, was just great. Our guides Juan and Esteban, for tours of the churches in the surrounding area either on foot or by bus were excellent. Esteban was very well informed as to the historical, cultural and spiritual relevance of the places we visited. He had the patience of Job when it came to answering our questions and was extremely well informed. All of us enjoyed his sense of humor and kind manner and found him to be an excellent guide. We were picked up by a very nice young man from the Excelsior Tours Agency and transported to my hotel and to a monastery where Father was staying. At check-in at the hotel I was handed a nice little package containing coca and oregano tea bags, great for altitude adjustment, compliments of Mathieu Gillory, the tour director. What a good idea! The people on our Pilgrimage came from so many different parts of the United States, Europe and Latin America, were from very young to seniors in age, of different cultural backgrounds and languages and yet we hit it off beautifully. We had the most important thing in common: our Faith. We were able to pray together, have fun and enjoy each other in the love of Our Lady of Good Success.
